What should I wear?

All new students should turn up for training in loose clothing, either loose trousers or shorts and a t-shirt.  Eventually, you will need a training suit but we'll discuss that closer to the time you'll need it.  Don't worry about picking the footwear to train in as the Tae Kwon Do classes are indoors and we train bare foot.

What else should I bring?

If you think that you will need one, please feel free to bring a drink with you (water is best).  However, you need to be aware that you will not be allowed to just walk off and get it when you want it.  A drink break will normally be allowed about half way through the lesson.
Other than that, just bring yourself with an open mind and the desire to try something new and have fun. You don't even need any money for training, the first session is a free trial.

What if I like it?

If you think that you like it and you want to keep coming (which I hope you will) then there are a couple of things you'll need.  The first is a BTC license.  This acts as your insurance for training.  The draw back is, the license form must be filled in at the start of your free trial session.  This ensures that you're covered from the start.  With this in mind, please let the instructor know you're coming and this can be done 10 minutes before the class starts.

There are two other things that you will need to continue. A training suit, as mentioned above and a small round practice target called a focus pad.  Most students also like to get a TAGB training manual so that they can practice at home too.

That sounds like a lot. Is it expensive?

It can be, especially if there are several members of a family starting at the same time.  However, talk to the instructor to discuss what you need to get, in what order and when you need to get it.
